![]() ![]() I started listening to Phil Driscoll in the late 1980's. The first time I ever heard of him was on the Grammy's one year. I remember watching this "guy" sing Amazing Grace and didn't think much of it. I began to talk with other people that were in the room with me. While I was talking I heard a really wild trumpet solo. It was that same guy that was just singing! I was amazed! He sounded so different than anyone else I had been listening to at the time. I really liked the energy and passion he poured into his playing. His echo effects were the icing on the cake for me. I waited until the song was over hoping to hear his name, and of course it was Phil Driscoll. The very next day I went to the local record store (remember, this was the '80's) and bought two of his records, Power Of Praise and Amazing Grace & Other Favorites. I have been a fan ever since.
